TURN AROUND
THE SEARCH IS NOT YET FINISHED
A site-responsive installation/performance in dialogue with Toeti Heraty’s autobiographical work Pencarian Belum Selesai (The Search Is Not Yet Finished) at Cemara 6 Galeri - Toeti Heraty Museum.
The work brings together a diary of memories from Tokyo and Nina, a figure originating from Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull, in a new encounter in Jakarta. The idea of “searching” resonates with Nina’s continuing search for herself as a woman and an artist.
The kimono, photographs, projected images and the live body carry different forms of memory. As Nina’s words emerge through a partially obscured body and images overlap in projection, the performance explores visibility and invisibility; what becomes visible, what remains hidden, and what continues beyond the image.
Nina’s search continues; from Tokyo, and now to Jakarta.

About the Artist
Yeliz Čelebić is a multidisciplinary artist from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey, working across performance, theatre, moving image and site-specific practices. Her work explores relationships between body, memory and space, bringing personal, literary and historical narratives into dialogue.
Her works have been presented internationally at The Watermill Center (USA), Watari Museum of Contemporary Art and Theatre Brats (Japan), National Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kunsthaus Essen (Germany), Festival OFF Avignon (France), C32 Performing Art Workspace (Italy), Gakka Art Gallery (Vietnam), and Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (Turkey).
With a background in History, Arts Management and Dance Anthropology, she continues her artistic practice between Istanbul and Sarajevo.
